Champions League preview


The 2011 UEFA Champions League group phase begins on Tuesday evening with Chelsea and Arsenal kicking off their campaigns.
Andre Villas-Boas's men begin their European adventure at Stamford Bridge in Group E as they host German side Bayer Leverkusen.
The game - which you can see live on Sky Sports HD2 - will see Michael Ballack return to his former stomping ground, as Bayer look to end Chelsea's unbeaten start to the new season.

In the same group as Chelsea, Belgian champions Genk embark on their first Champions League group stage campaign as they host Spanish giants Valencia.

Arsenal too have German opposition in their opening as they face a tough-looking trip to the Ruhr as they come up against Bundesliga champions Borussia Dortmund.

The Gunners came through a tricky qualifier against Udinese to make the group stages, but Arsene Wenger's men will have to be at their best to get anything from the Signal Iduna Park.

The other game in that group sees Greek champions Olympiakos host French giants Marseille in Athens.

In Group H, two of world football's Colossus' collide as European champions Barcelona play host to AC Milan.

With 11 European titles between them, the match at Camp Nou promises to be a mouthwatering encounter and you can see it via Sky Sports HD4.

The other game in Group H sees Czech champions Viktoria Plzen make their Champions League group debut as they tackle Belarus outfit BATE Borisov.

Finally in Group G, Europa League holders Porto face a tough opener as they welcome Ukrainian champions Shakhtar Donetsk to Portugal.

The final match sees Cypriots Apoel Nicosia return to the group stages as they welcome Zenit St Petersburg to the GSP Stadium.
