BMW, Conergy, Volkswagen: German Equity Preview

The following is a list of companies whose shares may have unusual price changes in Germany. Stock symbols are in parentheses and share prices are from the previous close.

The benchmark DAX Index fell 0.84 percent to 5,537.48.

Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (BMW) : The world’s largest maker of luxury vehicles said New-York based Kirshenbaum Bond Senecal and Partners will become the lead agency for national brand creation. The shares closed higher 0.4 percent at 54.05 euros.

Conergy AG (CGYK GY): The German solar energy group will cut jobs in Frankfurt and Hamburg as it restructures production in response to competition from Chinese companies, Handelsblatt reported, citing unidentified people at the company. The shares closed higher 0.8 percent to 0.54 euros.

Volkswagen AG (VOW) (VOW3 GY): Europe’s largest carmaker said it opened its first reprocessing plant in Dalian, China, which will be able to reprocess 15,000 engines annually. The shares closed up 1.3 percent at 109.15 euros.
