Gwyneth Paltrow saved woman's life on 9/11
Actress Gwyneth Paltrow inadvertently saved the life of a woman heading to work at New York's Twin Towers on 9/11. The 38-year-old star almost hit Lara Lundstrom Clarke with her car while the woman was crossing the road to reach the
subway to catch her train to downtown Manhattan on
September 11, 2001.
She missed her train because of this brief accident and arrived late at the World Trade Centre station, just moments after the first of two hijacked planes had been flown into the buildings by terrorists, reported Daily Star.
"It was one of those mornings that felt good, you had a little skip in your step... Then all of the sudden, a silver Mercedes SUV came barreling down towards me. I stopped and they (the car) screeched to a halt."
"At that time I was annoyed at everything that had made me late that day, including Gwyneth Paltrow... (But) if I had made that train I would have been at my desk on the 77th floor of 2 World Trade Cente?(sic)," said Clarke.
She also wrote a letter to Paltrow detailing her experience on the morning of the terrorist attacks and the actress reportedly was deeply moved by the story.
