The world renowned manufacturer of luxury car Mercedes Benz has introduced its most awaited car Mercedes Benz- SLK Blue efficiency model in India. B U Bhandari Motors Pvt. Ltd. formally launched this model first time in Maharashtra at Pune amidst much fanfare. Present at the launch event were Deven Bhandari & Chandravadan Bhandari, Directors of B U Bhandari Motors Pvt. Ltd. and Debashish Mitra, Director, Sales & Marketing, Mercedes Benz.
“Earlier Mercedes was considered as a car of high class people for the age group of 45 plus. But now, the scenario has changed. With increased pay packages, the buying pattern has also changed. Taking a note of the trend from past 4 years, it is seen that youngsters in the age group of 30-35 yrs and belonging to rich strata are getting attracted towards this class brand. Keeping this in mind, a multi use sports car SLK has been launched by the company, said Bhandari.
SLK 350 Blue Efficiency has been loaded with many special features. The fuel capacity is of 60 liters (8 L Reserve) with a top speed of 250 km per hour. The engine is V/ 6 cylinders having strength of 3498 CC. The main attraction of this sporty look model is the Magic Sky Control. By pressing a single button you can convert your close car into an open sports car and vice versa in just 20 secs.
All the roof variants offer lots of room for luggage even when the car is open. The vario-roof makes the SLK a weatherproof car for all seasons. A panoramic vario-roof is available for the SLK as an optional extra. It lets a lot of light in, making the interior seem even lighter and roomier. The Blue EFFICIENCY measures consist of comprehensive Vehicle optimizations designed to ease the burden on the environment. Each model combines the most efficient engine with latest-generation, intelligent aerodynamic and energy-management measures. Such measures include the ECO start/stop function which reduce fuel consumption by up to 24 percent yet have a much higher power output.
The car is rich in features which reduces the chances of accidents. The features are ATTENTION ASSIST (standard) - it detects drowsiness especially useful on long trips. At speeds of between 80 and 180 km/h, ATTENTION ASSIST can warn the driver as soon as it discovers signs of drowsiness or inattention. Several sensors analyze the driver’s behavior and can detect any changes compared with the driver profile individually determined previously.
The other feature of Intelligent Light System has five settings. The country mode illuminates the edge of the road, the motorway mode the entire width of the road. The extended fog lamp function improves visibility, whilst the active light function and the cornering light function follow the driver’s steering angle. The DISTRONIC PLUS feature helps the driver to maintain the pre-selected distance between the car and the vehicle in front by braking the car, to a standstill if necessary and then accelerating it again. Brake Assist BAS PLUS feature can help to prevent rear-ends collisions. ADAPTIVE BRAKE system helps drivers to master the critical braking manoeuvres.
