Peter Morrissey designs for tight budgets
Designer Peter Morrissey has helped launch the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival Sydney.
Morrissey unveiled his spring/summer 2011/12 work wear collection at the Town Hall on Tuesday night, showcasing designs for the fashion-savvy and budget-conscious.
His Man & Woman label, now in its fifth season and exclusive to Big W, impressed the audience with its work wear, casual wear, lingerie and underwear ranges.

The collection featured a men's suit for under $130, as well as men's tan pants, stone-coloured shorts cut mid-thigh, and checked and striped business shirts.
For women charcoal pencil skirts featured, with figure-hugging dresses, tailored navy shorts and suit jackets.
"I want to fashion your lives and I think tonight people are going to see by the repetition of what I'm trying to tell them that it is irresponsible that people don't fashion people's lives at an appropriate price at this time," Morrissey told AAP ahead of the show.
"I'm very proud of my association with Big W; I'm very proud of what we do for the customer."
Nautical stripes are a key feature of Morrissey's collection and they have been utilised in a blazer and shift dress, both nipped in at the waist, a women's tank top and men's shirts.
"The nautical is really good, the lingerie's incredible, the suiting is amazing, I like all of it," Morrissey said.
The lingerie was feminine with lace, mesh, frill, ribbon and diamante detailing, while the men's underwear included printed and basic briefs and boxers.
Also launched on Tuesday night was Dr Rey's Animal Print Shapewear, perfect for the boudoir, while earlier in the day was Myer's Big is Beautiful Fashion Launch for sizes 16 to 24.
