Two dogs poisoned in Nanton

Nanton RCMP are investigating after two dogs were poisoned after they consumed meat laced with a chemical.

They say that the two dogs had eaten the meat at a rural residence southeast of Nanton sometime in the afternoon of December 28.

Both animals were taken to a local vet clinic and treated.

Belle, a one year old retriever cross has recovered and is now back at home.

Nook, a six year old golden retriever remains at the clinic in serious condition.

Nanton RCMP are looking for anyone with any information about the incident that will aid in the police investigation.
